After 11 amazing weeks in Charlottesville, we have relocated to Fort Benning in Columbus, Georgia. We went from mild weather in Virginia to the hot balmy South. We checked into the barracks on Sunday…and man was it a change!! We are in an old cinderblock building, similar to my dorm at A&M. The only difference is that this building looks like it hasn’t been cleaned or updated in 50 years, but it honestly adds to the charm. The girls are on the second floor and the boys on the third. With the help of Heather’s husband, we got our room all set up.
Monday was paperwork day, and Tuesday we got all of our equipment issued…pretty sure all of it weighed more than me! We got everything put together and on Wednesday we headed out to Voyager, a training FOB (forward operating base, like in Afghanistan). All 115+ of us slept in the same barracks tent, and it was actually pretty fun! We spent the rest of the week going through Combat Lifesaver training, which was really interesting.
Getting our equipment all ready.
Cami sitting next to me on the bus to Voyager, smothered by all of our gear!
Our huge sleeping tent!
It’s hot here, but thankfully this week will be cooler. We are going to be doing an obstacle course, learning about heavy arms, and then getting our M4s and learning how to use them! Then, this weekend I’ll be at Megan’s wedding in Muleshoe!!

This is a great blog. I’ve just read ALL of the posts haha.
I’m an undergrad right now and I’ve actually been wondering whether JAG would be right for me…perhaps you could give me some advice?
Looking forward to more posts, and congrats on the coin!
